Barge Design Solutions is seeking a Geomatics Intern for Summer 2026! This internship is open to hard-working students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Surveying and Mapping, or a related field, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. You'll gain hands-on experience with surveying equipment, data processing, and interpreting property descriptions, so get ready to apply your skills in the field!

Geomatics Internship

What We're Looking For: 

Are you a hard-working and dedicated college student who is looking to gain valuable work experience in your field? Do you want to gain experience while learning from great mentors and leaders? Barge Design Solutions is looking for someone like you to intern with us this summer.

Location: Nashville, TN

Number of positions available: 1

Schedule: Summer 2026

You will gain experience in: 

  • Learning how to operate equipment in order to execute proper surveying techniques in the field. 
  • Processing survey data. 
  • Interpreting legal/property description 
  • Operating survey instruments such as robotic total stations, GPS and laser scanning. 
  • Basic field calculations. 
  • Boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, highway, route, utility and laser scanning surveys. 

 Education & Experience Qualifications: 

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited university. 
  • Major: Surveying and Mapping or related field. 
  • Current GPA of 3.0 or higher. 
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.  
  • Preference will be given to students that do not require sponsorship. 

Additional Details: 

  • This is a paid internship.  
  • Interns are not eligible for company benefits. 
  • Housing assistance is not provided. 
  • This position will mostly include fieldwork, so you must be willing to be outdoors and work in the elements. 
  • Project travel may be necessary but will not be at your expense. 
  • Pay will be hourly with the ability to obtain overtime when necessary. Full workdays/week will be contingent upon weather.
