TCC Family Health, founded in 1939,  a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), provides comprehensive, high quality health care and wellness services to those of all ages in the under resourced and underserved need in the greater Long Beach community.  TCC is now a vibrant network of 14 clinic sites, including three school-based health centers, and one mobile medical clinic. Last year TCC served almost 40,000 patients through 175,000 medical, behavioral health, dental, optometry and wellness visits.

The principle function of the Licensed Vocational Nurse is to provide safe patient care by assisting Clinic Providers with treatments, procedures and clerical duties as defined in the Licensed Vocational Nurse Scope of Practice. The Licensed Vocational Nurse will demonstrate competence inpatient care for infants, children, adolescents, and adult patient population. The LVN will ensure the delivery of quality patient care and the efficiency of patient flow.

Essential Duties and Functions:.

  • Walk-In Schedule- LVN to view and manage the flow for site Walk-Ins Schedule throughout day- Goal to have walk in addressed or plan of action within 45-minute time frame from Present status.
  • Request for Laboratory and X-ray Orders from Specialty Office or PCP.
  • Document patient history within EMR System.
  • Refill Request & Prior Authorization for Medication.
  • Case Management / Patient Education.
  • Vaccines.
  • Weekly Medical Assistant Schedule.
  • Oversee Mail and Faxes Correspondence to insure that being completed at a minimum 2 times a day by assigned staff.
  • Forms – LVN to fill out all fields able to and forward to provider.

Education and Qualifications

  • Completion of High School and or GED is required.
  • Completion of vocational school- LVN training is required.
  • Current License to practice in the State of California as an LVN is required.
  • Must Have ability to communicate well in oral and written English.
  • CPR/BLS certification is required..
  • Certified for Blood Withdrawal/Phlebotomy is required. 
  • Minimum of one-year experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
  • Must have computer skills with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet, and Practice Management Systems.
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Interest in working with diverse ethnic groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient Clinical skills – Catherization, Injections, Vitaling, and rooming patients.

  • Per Diem 9:30AM - 6:00PM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.49- $31.49 per hour
