We are looking for an energetic and organized Shop Hand to join our team!

Job Summary

The Shop Hand supports daily operations in a truck upfitting, fabrication and service shop by assisting technicians, maintaining shop organization, preparing vehicles and equipment, and performing basic installation and fabrication tasks. This role is essential to keeping projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, work areas, and yard
  • Assist with inventory handling, parts organization, and material identification
  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials, parts, and finished products
  • Dispose of scrap materials and maintain recycling and waste areas
  • Prepare trucks for upfitting by washing, staging, masking, or removing/installing components
  • Assist upfitting technicians with installation of truck accessories and equipment, including:
    • Service bodies, flatbeds, toolboxes, ladder racks
    • Hitches, bumpers, steps, lighting, and auxiliary equipment
  • Perform basic mechanical, electrical, or fabrication tasks under supervision
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and correctly
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures at all times
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support shop operations

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50–75 lbs, bending, standing, and working outdoors as needed
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and shop safety practices
  • Willingness to learn truck upfitting procedures and equipment
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in:
    • Automotive, truck, or equipment shops
    • Fabrication, welding assistance, or electrical work
    • Construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with trucks
  • Forklift or shop equipment experience (or willingness to become certified)

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting
  • Exposure to typical shop conditions (noise, dust, heat, cold)
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a half hour lunch, but hours could change based on need.
