One year of nursing experience in a critical care area is also preferred.

Job Description

JOB TITLE: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

REPORTS TO: Director, Emergency Department

POSITION SUMMARY: This job may require the employee to be responsible for the gathering of patient data, treatment, or care of patients of all ages. Care of patients will be under the direction of a registered nurse to include care to the following neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient’s self-report or behavior and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited LVN School of Nursing preferred and a minimum of one year of nursing experience in a critical care area preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust possess a current California LVN license and BLS required. IV and Blood Withdrawal certification required. ACLS and PALS certification due within 90 days of hire or status change. Violence Prevention & De-Escalation certification required within 90 days of hire.
