Job Description

Job Summary

Our Supply Operations department is looking for two interns. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support the SCADA Engineering team in all activities which can involve configuring and programming protective relays, automation controllers, and SCADA systems.
  • Assist the engineers in working with SCADA system to build process workflows, prepare P&ID drawings and help with replacing equipment in the network.
  • Working with the Engineering team to perform regularly scheduled activities
  • The intern can expect to develop or enhance their knowledge of large-scale SCADA, water treatment & distribution, and project management skills in automation.
  • The intern will be exposed to the operations of large water systems as well as the operation and maintenance of assets in the utility industry.

Preferred Requirements

  • Must have an interest in automating processes
  • Must be willing to learn control systems applications in water and wastewater systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Above average analytical ability

Education/Certifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university engineering program.
  • Must have completed an introductory course in electrical engineering and power/automation/control engineering.

Salary

  • This is a temporary, non-benefit eligible, full-time position reporting out of our Shelton location with travel to water treatment sites throughout Connecticut.
  • The position will run from mid-May through the end of August. 
  • The hours will be 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Salary will be $21.00/hour.
