Highlights:

Summary: The Radiologic Technologist shall be responsible to perform a variety of technical tasks that are involved in operating diagnostic imaging equipment. This individual will be responsible to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by the Physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage, and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. The Technologist will determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments and equiment, and position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required. The Technologist will assist Physician with fluoroscopic examinications and special radiographic studies. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience: Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology required. Active primary Radiography registry through the ARRT(R ) or NMTCB and actively working to achieve the primary ARRT(R ) (CT) or NMTCB (CT) registry status within twelve months of hire or required completion of three month training course and clinical hours provided by Baptist Health. License / Certification: Active ARRT (R) required, BLS required
For those utilizing OJT in non-Surgical areas, must obtain ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT) within 12 months of hire to role. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must possess reasoning and good independent judgment.
• Must have the ability to work within rigid time constraints.
• Must be aware of patient conditions at all times.
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills.Work Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires walking 33% of the time; sitting 33% of the time; and standing 33% of the time.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Performs duties in radiology, surgery, emergency room, and patients' rooms.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
