Job Description

Starting Wage - $18.00 w/ $0.75 raise every six months. Top-out rate of $24.00 at 48 months.

Hours - 6:30a to 3:15p OT as needed

  1. Primary Job Function:

Operate and maintain equipment in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for meeting plant targets for safety, quality, efficiency and cost reduction by following standardized work, carrying out Kaizen, participating in QC Circles, carrying out 5S, and other activities as assigned.

  2. Work in a manufacturing environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, training and discipline to follow company rules and standards.
  3. Follow standardized work procedures and work sequence for each process without fail.
  4. Work with team to improve standardized processes/methods, identify wastes, methodically eliminate waste and standardize the new process/methods.
  5. Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area, meeting Cycle Time as established in Standard Work.
  6. Work in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
  7. Complete all working documentation, records and reports on time and accurately.
  8. Understand all company policies and procedures as applies to your role and responsibilities in the company.
  9. Be proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process. Follow troubleshooting rules and STOP. CALL.WAIT standard. Be able to convey sequence of events leading to breakdowns and assist other personnel to understand abnormalities that occur.
  1. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education:  

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: 

  • years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Personal/Technical Skills:

  • Focus on employee relations centered on respect, trust and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a personality that works in cooperation with other team members towards building a sense of company teamwork and collaboration across teams, departments, and shifts.
  • Identify and make suggestions for continuous process improvements (Kaizen).
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively and work respectfully with others in a team setting.
  • Must have good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication are required.

Language Skills:

English, both written and oral required

Computer/Software:

Basic computer skills

  • Work Environment/Conditions:

Plant: 

Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.  PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. may be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas.  Personal attire standards may apply.

  1. Physical Demands:

Capable of standing 100% of time and must be able bend, walk, & to lift up to 30 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to grip tools and objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; using hands to finger, handle, feel, twist, walk, twisting (standing), bend at the waist, do repetitive motions, talk and hear.  The team member must occasionally kneel, work from heights and crouch.  The team member must frequently lift and/or move five to fifteen pounds. The team member must regularly lift twenty to thirty pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over thirty pounds with the assistance of a mechanical device or another team member. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see and hear.
