Job Summary:
The Sales Associate provides excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, sharing knowledge about pet care, and maintaining store cleanliness and organization. This role reflects our values by being positive, eager to learn, team-oriented, and accountable to customers, pets, and fellow staff. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

Greets and assists customers with product recommendations and pet care advice.
Maintains clean, safe, and well-stocked sales floor areas.
Cleaning and handling of birds
Monitors and replenishes merchandise displays.
Provides accurate information about promotions, loyalty programs, and store policies.
Works closely with team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Assists with customer returns, exchanges, and problem resolution.
Supports the register area when needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Strong communication and customer service skills.
Positive and welcoming approach toward people and pets.
Eager to learn about products and pet care.
Team player with accountability to both customers and coworkers.
Ability to handle multiple customer needs simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior retail or customer service experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Bending, reaching, and climbing ladders as needed.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

The goal of the business was to make aquarium supplies more affordable for fish hobbyists. Bernie and Sandy’s son, Scott, and daughter, Beth, purchased the business from their parents in the late 1990’s. During this time, other pet supply categories were added to the business and the company was rebranded as That Fish Place - That Pet Place. In 2015 the company was purchased by long-time employees Rick and Chrisi Amour with the goal of continuing to grow the business that the Lebowitz family had so successfully established.
