Qualifications

We are looking for a Sales Representative with excellent communication and customer service skills. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with six months to one year of related experience. Basic computer skills and cash handling experience are also necessary for this role.

Job Description

Metro is seeking a Sales Representative to sell products/services by maximizing customer convenience and promoting service excellence. Support sales plans and special promotions in the achievement of sales goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Sell Metro, TANK and Access fare media by interacting, both face-to-face and over the phone, with customers and organizations in a courteous and efficient manner. Sell fare media via mail when necessary.
  • Process both in and outgoing mail, as necessary. Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Sort and organize lost and found items for customer pick up. Maintain route schedule rack.
  • Assist in the development of strategies to meet or exceed organizational and department performance goals and objectives.
  • Model exemplary internal and external customer service.

  • Ability to work in compliance with Metro's safety and security policies. Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist customers with Mobile App issues Assist with the production on CPS smart cards
  • Provide assistance with the UC and Cincinnati State Discount program
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Communications - Excellent verbal, writing and non-verbal skills. Clear, concise, and persuasive. Excellent grammar and punctuation.

Education
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience
  • Six months to one-year related experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Computer Skills
  • Basic computer skills and email.
Other Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills. Cash handling skills required.
  • Experience with cash register, touch screen register is a plus. Familiarity with Metro's bus schedules, routes, and policies. Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift a minimum 25 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Office/retail atmosphere
  • Shift within Hours of Operation: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

SORTA operates Metro fixed-route bus service and Access paratransit service for people whose disabilities prevent their riding Metro buses. Metro provides about 15 million rides per year in Greater Cincinnati.
