We are looking for someone with knowledge of metal building construction, including the ability to read blueprints and use tools for cutting, bending, and welding steel. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing conditions.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required.
- Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints
- Bolt aligned structural steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.
- Pull, push, or pry structural steel members into approximate positions for bolting into place.
- Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
- Fasten structural steel members to hoist cables, using chains, cables, or rope.
- Hoist steel beams, girders, or columns into place, using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the metal building construction
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work on more than one task at a time.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with fellow employees.
- Ability to perform repetitive work.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Maintains composure in stressful situations.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
