This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in driving innovation, leveraging technology, workflow documentation, internal controls alignment, and reporting. • Document and evaluate accounting and capital asset workflows, mapping them to internal controls and identifying opportunities for process alignment and improvement.
  • Develop and refine Tableau reports and dashboards to support accounting, capital services, and data governance efforts.
Support the physical asset inventory process by compiling results, validating data, and ensuring alignment with asset management standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and prepare clear summaries of findings, requirements, and project progress to support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project progress, findings, and recommendations for key stakeholders.
  • Other projects as assigned.

  • A Student – You must be currently enrolled in a Master’s program or a recent graduate (< 1 year ago) in a degree program such as business administration, accounting/finance, information management, or a related discipline and has an enthusiasm for analytics.
  • Committed to Equity - You will apply equity and exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work.  At the Port of Seattle, equity is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all Port employees.
  • Analytical – You have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective Communicator – You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative – You can work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Technologically Proficient – You demonstrate interest in finance, technology, and digital innovation. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and data analytics tools (i.e. Tableau) is preferred. Prior experience or coursework related to finance, technology, or digital transformation is a plus.
