About this role:

The Loan Processor is responsible for ordering investigative reports and processing loan applications to support the Bank’s Residential and Consumer Lending effort.


In this role you will

  • Support the Bank’s “People First” focus and rules of engagement—maintaining a professional demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing clients excellent service, always striving to make CNOB “A Better Place to Be”
  • Review applications for completeness and investigate applicants’ backgrounds.
  • Order credit reports (e.g., Experian, property search, appraisal, judgment search or other as deemed necessary) by a lending officer.
  • Validate client information supplied on the application (e.g., employment and wage history, telephone numbers; send out Verification of Employment (VOE), Verification of Rent or Mortgage (VOM), Verification of Deposit (VOD).
  • Provide applicants with proper disclosures to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Assist in preparing loan closing documents; forward to assigned branches or attorneys.
  • Create new loan files.
  • Handle customer inquiries (phone and written correspondence) as related to their application status.

Must haves

  • Strong “People First” interest and ability.
  • Knowledge of CNOB products and Residential and Consumer services preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal and State banking regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Regulation E and US PATRIOT Act).
  • Strong management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail with ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment.

Bonus Points For:

  • Working knowledge of Google applications and products
  • 1+ year of residential loan processing experience
