Description

PURPOSE:

This is a professional position requiring high levels of independence, initiative, and accountability. It is essential to enhancing visibility and awareness and increasing partnerships in the community to benefit children in care. It is responsible for the organization, oversight, and implementation of resource development, which includes management of gift-in-kind programs, volunteer management systems, community booths for resource development, and the organization and implementation of designated program events for child welfare programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with internal and external audiences
  • Establishes rapport with stakeholders to engage them in iniatives to help meet agency goals and objectives
  • Enlists the cooperation of businesses, community organizations and sponsors to support gift-in-kind projects for child welfare programs
  • Tracks the reporting on all businesses, community organizations, and sponsors for in-kind and cash donations for reporting and stewardship purposes for child welfare programs
  • Enhances and manages the volunteer management system including recruiting, tracking, and reporting volunteer hours for child welfare programs
  • Recruits and trains community volunteers to assist with special projects
  • Plans, attends, and coordinates meetings and special events as needed
  • Plans and coordinates activities associated with SCC Angels, Foster Parent Appreciation, Back to School Events, Reunification Events; and Special awareness months such as: Adoption Awareness Month, National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and other awareness months and activities as assigned for child welfare programs
  • Formulates plans and prioritizes projects with other staff members 
  • Flexibility to meet department needs, including occasional evening and weekend hours
  • Assistance with back-up coverage for the department as needed
  • Assistance in the development of communication strategies to meet child welfare program goals
  • Applies analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Performs administrative tasks as needed.
  • Manages special projects as assigned
  • Prepares data and reports as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay range-$ 55,000.00

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or related field required. 

Minimum of 2 years professional experience in sales, marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
