Wilton Manufacturing Engineering Assembly and Test has Summer Internship Position opening for undergraduate students of Mechanical, Electrical, & Industrial/Manufacturing  Engineering studies. 

Your Assignment:

The main responsibility of the intern is to assist Production Engineers in the development of the manufacturing process for new product through automation of data analysis used in various processes in the factory. The following responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Support Production Engineers in developing new manufacturing processes by automating data analysis used across factory workflows, enabling faster decision-making, and more effective presentations.

  • Collect, clean, and analyze assembly/test data to create presentation‑ready datasets that improve process visibility and stability for new product introductions.

  • Contribute to documentation and process development by assisting in drafting work instructions for data automation processes.

The intern will be working with senior Production Engineer during this intern.

The candidate needs to be self-motivated and to work independently on specific tasks. Also, the candidate must work well in a dynamic environment and be a good team player. The candidate must have good communication skills.

Your Profile:

  • Student attaining at least a Bachelor's of Science in a Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, & Industrial/Manufacturing.

  • High preference for candidates with a background in manufacturing.

Role within the Factory 
Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. 

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Can work under deadlines.

  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.

  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule – twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.  

  • This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.

Additional Responsibilities:

There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
