Two years of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Job Details:

Night Shift (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) with a 7-on / 7-off rotation

SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of a supervisor, the medical laboratory technician provides technical assistance in the performance of routine tests.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Prepares reagents and solutions.
2.    Examine and analyze bodily fluids and cells.
3.    Reports abnormalities and maintains a detailed record of daily activities.
4.    Performs phlebotomy procedures when necessary.
5.    Operate blood bank and type and cross-match blood samples.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Responsible for lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects.
2.    Ability to lift and carry objects up to fifty (50) pounds in weight.
3.    Attends mandatory meetings.
4.    Adheres to the dress code, attendance, and all other company policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have one of the following requirements:

1.    Bachelor’s of Science degree in medical technology or a related science field
2.    Graduate of an accredited MLT program.

3.    ASCP or AMT certification 
4.    Two (2) years of experience in a hospital setting are preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1.    May be exposed to the risk of communicable diseases and radiation.
2.    May require handling of unclean or infectious materials.
3.    Normally works in a well-lighted, well-ventilated area.
4.    Must be able to work under the stress and conditions that normally exist in a hospital setting.
5.    Classification Category 1 – Tasks involving blood, bodily fluids, or tissues exposure.
