Environmental Health Assistance - 100%
Conduct tick surveillance activities.
Manage West Nile Virus surveillance data.
Conduct communicable disease case investigations.
Write summary reports and appropriate correspondence.
Adhere to County work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior.

Required Education
Minimum completion of 60 hours from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 30 hours of science coursework (biology, environmental health, chemistry or related).
This position is for a current student ONLY. Only current students that meet this minimum requirement will be considered.
Experience Qualifications
A combination of education and environmental health experience may be considered.
Licenses and Certifications
Pre-employment substance screening is required for this position.
This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening in accordance with Weld County policy.
Employment for this position is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
*This is a temporary part-time position running from April through June, 20 hours per week.
This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.

Weld County covers an area of 3,999 square miles in north central Colorado. It is bordered on the north by Wyoming and Nebraska and on the south by the Denver metropolitan area. The third largest county in Colorado, Weld County has an area greater than that of Rhode Island, Delaware and the District of Columbia combined. The climate is dry and generally mild with warm summers, mild winters and a growing season of approximately 138 days. The land surface is fairly level in the east, with rolling prairies and low hills near the western border. Elevations in the county range from 4,400 to 5,000 feet.
