POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will provide technical support focusing on the design, development, testing, and implementation of mechanical systems on fire trucks. Engineering projects typically require collaboration with other engineering teams, purchasing, manufacturing, service, and sales - giving the engineering intern a broad level of exposure to how engineering processes impact operations within Rosenbauer America.

Support the design, prototype, and testing phases for new and improved mechanical systems for fire trucks, as a team member on one or more engineering projects.
Create and maintain design documentation, such as BoMs, mechanical drawings, and test reports
Analyze and problem-solve design, production, and field issues to successful resolution.
Communicate with management throughout the process of researching, developing, testing, and implementing engineering designs.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
(K) nowledge, Education, and/or Experience:
Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar technical field required.
Experience in heavy truck systems, fire trucks, or auto repair preferred.
Participation in extracurricular activities such as SAE student competitions, Solar Vehicle competitions, FIRST Robotics, science fairs, research, or other home projects related to engineering preferred.
