Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc.is seeking a Civil Engineer in Milwaukee, WI.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Propose civil engineering solutions to new challenges through on-site construction inspections, monitor progress, and quality assurance to meet state, municipal, and technical standards
  • Complete primary design elements and ensure projects align with budget and schedule expectations with minimal supervision
  • Conduct design tasks and create sketches, diagrams, and working drawings
  • Perform calculations
  • Conduct on-site construction inspection for various projects, including roadway reconstruction, storm facility retrofits, and storm pond rehabilitation
  • Review civil plans for designs, erosion and sediment control, drainage design and computations, and floodplain management
  • Assist with stormwater management design and conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support project analysis and design
  • Complete drainage design activities, including planning, storm sewer design, and conveyance design
  • Support plan production and project bids by ensuring alignment with project specifications and regulatory standards
  • Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and 1 year of experience as a Civil Engineer, Water Resources Engineer, or a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study with no experience.

Position requires the following:

  1. Hydrology and hydraulic modeling and principles
  2. CAD software drafting using tools including Autodesk, and/or MicroStation
  3. Utilizing general stormwater and drainage modeling tools
  4. Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  5. GIS software applications, including ArcGIS and/or ArcMap
  6. Stormwater Management Design
  7. Drainage and Floodplain Analysis
  8. Construction Inspection, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control
  9. Performing plan reviews, project documentation, and bid preparation
