Construction Planner

Salary range: $89,000-108,000

Minimum Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust in relationships.

  • Proven ability to lead by example to foster positive cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be able to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in using scheduling software
  • Key personal traits, forward-thinking, proactive, resilient, sound judgment, innovation where its required, driven by the relentless pursuit of excellence.

Key Accountabilities (Essential Job Duties): 

  • Scheduling projects to perform railroad/construction activities on Keolis Commuter Services (KCS) property, e.g., Timeline, Resources loading, Track outages, etc., plus entering/maintaining information in project management software.
  • Manage, direct, and oversee all activities of scheduling for all supplemental work projects and ensure correct alignment with the Engineering, Mechanical, and Transportation departments.
  • Develop and implement project controls, specifically cost, and resource loading schedules, along with performing an earned value analysis on projects using scheduling software (Microsoft MS Project, Oracle Primavera, or other).
  • Schedule track access through the Transportation process, including outages for project tasks.
  • Capable of identifying the critical activities along the longest path of work through the schedule network for the project.
  • Develop and layout project-specific activities, milestones, durations, and phasing to meet the scope, along with indicating the resource hours per day, by craft, and equipment hours/day will be acceptable.
  • Maintain and update all project controls in compliance with the contract.
  • Attending and participating in all construction meetings with various contractors and the client.
  • Generate reports that outline the effectiveness of the scheduling activity for review by upper management.
  • Demonstrate understanding and adhering to the KCS principles of Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence & Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Economic Performance.
