POSITION OVERVIEW
The Stroke Program Coordinator is a key member of the Comprehensive Stroke Center team, supporting regulatory compliance, quality improvement, program operations, and data reporting activities that ensure the program meets national certification and regulatory standards. The position plays an important role in maintaining the operational infrastructure required for a high-performing stroke program within a complex academic medical center.
Working under the general direction of the Stroke Program Manager, the Coordinator partners with faculty members, system leaders, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrative teams to support program initiatives, performance monitoring, and regulatory readiness. Responsibilities include coordinating program activities, supporting stroke registry and outcomes reporting, maintaining program documentation and communication systems, and assisting with accreditation preparation and quality improvement initiatives.
This position requires strong customer service skills, organizational and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and comfort working with clinical data systems and reporting tools to support program performance and continuous improvement.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Operations, Compliance, and Quality Improvement
Support regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and quality improvement activities for the Comprehensive Stroke Center and associated stroke programs
Assist with maintaining compliance with regulatory and certification standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, Department of Health, CMS)
Support quality improvement initiatives, performance monitoring, and operational process improvement efforts
Assist with preparation and organization of materials for regulatory reviews, certification activities, and internal audits
Data Management and Program Performance
Support program performance monitoring through data collection, stroke registry/database entry, and patient outcomes tracking
Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting for quality, regulatory, and partner-site reporting requirements
Assist with preparation of reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for leadership and partner hospitals•
Coordinate monthly data reporting and program updates to partner sites as appropriate
Program Coordination and Communication
Maintain consistent communication with stroke-related clinics, nursing units, and other hospital departments
Maintain program contact lists, communication systems, and staff notifications
Assist with maintaining program policies, procedures, and operational documentation in collaboration with program leadership
Maintain and update Stroke Program website content and educational materials
Meetings, Education, and Program Activities
Coordinate program meetings, site visits, and educational activities including scheduling, agenda preparation, and meeting documentation
Prepare and distribute meeting materials, program packets, and educational resources
Maintain meeting minutes and track follow-up actions as needed
Administrative and Operational Support
Provide operational and administrative support for program initiatives and projects
Coordinate and prioritize assigned projects to meet timelines and deadlines. Track requisitions, purchases, and program-related administrative requests
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with healthcare data systems such as Tableau, REDCap, and Epic
Other Duties
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Stroke Program operations
REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty
OR
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
