The Dittman Laboratory is seeking a research technician starting in June 2026 to join a collaborative research team studying the genetic and biophysical mechanisms that control synaptic transmission and nervous system function.
The technician will work closely with graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and will gain hands-on experience with techniques such as CRISPR genome engineering, protein structure–function analysis, quantitative behavioral assays, and modeling human disease mutations in simple genetic systems. This position is ideal for individuals planning to pursue graduate or professional training in the biomedical sciences. Applicants should have prior laboratory experience in fields such as cell or molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, chemistry, biophysics, or neuroscience.
Some bench lab related experience.
Minimum two-year commitment due to a substantial training effort associated with the position

Ability to work flexible hours.
This position may handle radioactive material and/or biologic materials from human subjects as required.
This position may require standing or sitting for long periods of time.
This role may require working within Biologic Safety Level 1, 2 and/or 3 facilities
