We are looking for a Firmware Engineer Intern to join our Firmware team for Summer 2026. This role requires someone pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with relevant coursework in Circuit Analysis and Programming in C/Python. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are also essential.

Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Firmware Engineer Intern to join our Firmware team for Summer 2026. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in firmware development on optical transceivers, work alongside industry professionals, and contribute to meaningful projects that support our team and company objectives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop device drivers for optical transceivers.
  • MCU IDE and Eval board will be used.
  • Work closely with firmware team and MCU vendors
  • A set of peripheral drivers are expected to be developed for the MCU.

Education & Experience

  • Education Level Required: Bachelor: 
  •      - Rising Senior (completed 3 years by start)
  • Majors: Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in: Circuit Analysis, Programming in C/Python is a plus.
  • Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.

  • Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

  • Internship Duration: 10 – 14 weeks.

Working Conditions

  • This role will be based on-site in Fremont, CA.
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
  • Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
  •  Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
