Job Description Summary

The Administrative Intern will perform various duties as assigned in their specific internship area. Assignments may be project oriented or vary on a day-to-day basis. Activities will be performed under the supervision and guidance of personnel skilled in the execution of assigned tasks. Works collaboratively with a number of staff members depending on the specific activities associated with the internship.

Job Description

The Administrative Intern may perform any combination of the following:

  • Prepares reports, analyzes data, and presents findings. 

  • Provides assistance to employees, addressing inquiries

  • Application and/or report programming.

  • Data entry, extraction, and reporting.

  • Meeting attendance and facilitation.

  • Administrative support.

  • Project documentation, status and management.

  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to a departmental manager/supervisor or designated staff member on a routine basis to define specific activities, address issues and report status. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Education, training or experience and interest in healthcare/administrative related field.

  • General understanding of healthcare delivery processes as obtained through work in a clinical or administrative role or via experience with business process analysis in a healthcare setting desirable but not required.

  • Analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and documentation skills.

  • Experience with delivery of superior customer service.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.

  • May require long periods of concentration and attention to detail.

  • May be exposed to other settings within the healthcare environment for short periods while meeting with others and/or observing work flow

Pay and Benefits*:

Pay Range $20.00 per hour
