We provide safe places to live and long-term solutions through shelter, foster homes, community centers and housing to more than 28,000 youth every year at 100+ community and school locations. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
TAY Works! Is a comprehensive six-month work-readiness and on-the-job training for youth ages 15-17 who are receiving prevention or diversion services through our partner programs CAT and ATD. The program goal is to divert youth from initial or repeat engagement with the juvenile justice system by connecting the youth to supportive individuals in the community through peer mentoring, case management and on-the-job training at local businesses.
CONTEXT OF THE POSITION
Accountable to TAY WORKS! Program Manager. Performs professional work identifying businesses and industries to develop career and employment opportunities for job and career seekers. BSR is expected to have strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, organizational and analytical skills while supporting services that are in alignment with agency goals, objectives, mission and style within a team framework.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

PREFERRED EDUCATION, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum one to two years’ experience in the areas of workforce development, economic development, or human resources combining elements of career counseling, job development and placement preferably in youth and/or adult employment programs. The ideal candidate possess’ job development and placement experience, with a background in the delivery of workforce development services. Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both orally and in writing is a must with prior experience in resume development and editing preferred. Experience should preferably have been in a community based or neighborhood service organization. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Must be willing to work nights and weekends. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred. Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities, training skills, creativity, and public speaking. Ability to provide quality trauma-informed services in a fast-paced environment, specializing in crisis intervention and de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and Seeking Safety. Ability to (re) prioritize and multi-task is a must. Able to be cleared to drive and have valid driver’s license with own transportation (mileage reimbursed). Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid. Employment is subject to required clearances which include tuberculosis test, fingerprinting, background checks, and drug testing. Must be able to follow all the guidelines provided by the agency, government and health authorities to maintain safety and health when the job requires physical presence and/or contact with others during the COVID-19 pandemic.

TAY Works! Strives to prepare our participants for the workforce by understanding their needs and collaborating to support them in reaching their goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Hourly Pay: $21-$23
