Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) brings together American Express' merchant-and network-related businesses to enable a sharp focus on using the power of our network to provide unique value to all of our mutual customers. The organization manages the relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express and runs the company’s payment network and manages bank partnerships globally. The mission of the Global Strategy Operations & Performance (GSOP) group within GMNS is to be essential to merchants and partners globally by delivering an easy, frictionless, value-added experience that enables them to meet their goals and serve their customers. GSOP consists of a diverse set of teams that support the GMNS business.

The Global Merchant Operations Team in GSOP is looking for an Analyst, Merchant Onboarding, focused on strengthening the control environment and data integrity across the global merchant onboarding program. This role will support the oversight, monitoring, and validation of merchant onboarding control requirements, including through Key Risk Indicator (KRI) performance tracking and execution. This role will also lead project-based workstreams that leverage data analysis to identify trends, surface control gaps, and address emerging risk themes in order to strengthen and operationalize a compliant onboarding framework.

Specific responsibilities will include:

·       Monitor KRI control performance and identify emerging risks, control gaps, or operational breakdowns; partner with stakeholders to drive remediation

·       Support implementation of merchant onboarding data requirement KRIs, to address regulatory and enterprise policy standards, and business requirements

·       Maintain and update onboarding controls dashboards, scorecards, and supporting documentation

·       Support ongoing enhancement of data validation processes and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk exposure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and assess control effectiveness and risk scenarios
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint etc
  • Excellent qualitative analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience supporting project or initiative-based workstreams, including tracking milestones, coordinating stakeholders, and contributing to implementation of process or control enhancements, is a plus.


Salary Range: $65,500.00 to $102,500.00 annually + bonus + benefits
