Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

This high-profile Real Estate Fund Accountant role works closely with our Investment Management team, partners, asset managers, portfolio managers, and property-level accountants. The accountant is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day accounting for one or more assigned real estate investment funds. This employee receives training and mentoring. This position is based in Stream's Dallas headquarters located in the Arts District. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain books for one or more assigned Investment Fund(s); Submit quarterly for Senior Fund Accountant’s review. 
• Prepare quarterly financial statements with notes for the audit.
• Monitor and record cash transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Review property-level financial statements
• Prepare debt compliance, and submit to the lender (fund level).
• Prepare capital call and distribution notices for partners.  
• Facilitate the audit and tax preparation process.
• Opportunity to participate in Annual Meetings with investors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Entry-level to 2 (two) years of work experience in internships, public audit, tax, or industry accounting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate or Advanced competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Strong organizational skills and work ethic
• Self-motivated
• Desire to work on a team
• Problem-solving ability
• Ability to communicate and interact with internal and external partners
• Analytical and accounting skills commensurate with experience level
• Ability and desire to work in-office daily
