The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Arlington County and the City of Falls Church is seeking current law school students due to graduate in spring 2026 for a Trainee Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney opening. The successful candidate will be expected to commence work in August or September 2026, after taking the Virginia Bar in July 2026, with the expectation of promoting to an ACA I after being sworn into the Virginia Bar. While the position will start before a candidate receives bar results, continuation of the position is dependent on passing the Virginia Bar exam.

Working in a major metropolitan area's prosecutor's office including 20 attorneys and 20 support staff, offers an attorney a broad spectrum of experience and provides ample opportunities for collaboration, discussion, and comradery. The crimes prosecuted range from DUI to aggravated assaults, complex fraud investigations, rapes, and murders. The Office is responsible for both adult and juvenile prosecutions.
