Job Description

We are seeking a Counter Sales Associate for our Braintree, MA facility to join our team. This full-time position operates Monday–Friday, 7:00AM–4:00PM at $24-$25/hour. In this role, you will identify customer needs, present and answer questions about products and services, and recommend tailored solutions. A positive attitude and a proactive approach to resolving customer issues will be key to your success. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Greet customer on sales floor or receive telephone calls and determine make, type, and quality of merchandise desired. Discuss use and features of various parts; demonstrate use of merchandise.
  • Display merchandise, suggest selections that meet customer's needs, and emphasize selling points of article such as quality and utility. Maintain a clean and organized showroom.
  • Read catalog, or computer for replacement part stock number and price. Advise customers on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
  • Use computer databases to research the availability of merchandise. Fill customer orders from stock or prepare transfers from other location.  Prepare sales order or quote order.
  • Receive payment or obtains credit authorization. Examine defective articles returned by customers to determine if refund or replacement should be made.
  • Solicit new and established customers via telephone to promote sales. Resolve or alert management regarding inventory issues or customer concerns.
  • Work with clerical staff to check and maintain open orders, purchase orders, return merchandise purchase orders. Assist in maintaining current and accurate warranty return authorizations and their credit adjustments.
  • Follow direction provided by counter lead (if applicable) and lends support to warehouse staff in their duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Practical knowledge of warehouses, data processing, paper flow and operations procedures.
  • Must have the ability to process transactions and mediate situations among employees and customers as they arise.
  • Beginner to intermediate to advanced users of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Any lifting from 50-75 would require assistance from another employee.
  • Prior HVAC experience is required.
