Job Description

We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.

This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.

THE ROLE

As a Business Intelligence and Analytics Intern within the Systems Engineering Center of Excellence (SE CoE), you will join a high impact team that drives Pure’s strategic sales engagements through data driven insights. You will work in an innovative, award winning environment where your work directly supports advanced virtualization and automation frameworks used by customers around the world.

This role provides meaningful exposure to cross functional leadership and a strong commitment to your professional growth. You will collaborate closely with the SE CoE AVP, managers, and operations partners to transform raw data into actionable intelligence that empowers our field teams. You will also have the opportunity to own end to end analytics projects in a fast growing organization, connecting sophisticated data modeling with compelling executive level storytelling that influences real business decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Tableau Development & Reporting: Design, build, and maintain scalable dashboards that translate complex data into clear visualizations for both technical and non-technical audiences, while maintaining a catalog of definitions and usage documentation.
  • Data Modeling & Optimization: Partner with data engineering to define clean, well-structured datasets (fact/dimension tables) and recommend improvements to data pipelines and refresh strategies to ensure data quality and alignment with business definitions.
  • Stakeholder Support & Enablement: Act as the primary analytics partner for the SE CoE, gathering requirements for key KPIs and supporting ad-hoc analysis to help stakeholders understand dashboard insights and performance trends.
  • Performance Engineering: Optimize existing dashboards for performance and consistency, ensuring they are retired or consolidated when necessary to reduce redundancy and improve overall reporting efficiency.
  • We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Tableau (Desktop, Server, and Cloud) and advanced SQL skills, including the ability to query and manipulate large datasets and create complex dashboards using LOD calculations, table calculations, and parameters.
  • Analytical Foundations: Experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analysis with a solid understanding of data modeling best practices and experience working directly with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Proven ability to manage the full dashboard lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and data modeling to visualization, stakeholder rollout, and iterative maintenance.
  • Strategic Analytics Mindset: Deep understanding of BI best practices, including establishing naming conventions, refactoring inefficient calculations, and designing tailored dashboards for different organizational levels (Exec, Manager, and IC).
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to support business stakeholder needs and communicate complex data clearly in a fast-paced environment.
