Job Description

This internship experience will support the design and validation of various low-pressure and high-pressure gasoline engine components. The student will also support other departments in the plant (production, quality, etc) when development related tasks arise.

Examples of tasks include:

  • Tear-downs of field return/development tested components to expose internal failure locations in order to analyze surface conditions.
  • Documentation of tear-down investigations (presentations and/or reports) and presenting results
  • Coordinating and conducting design related testing
  • Data analysis, interpretation and presentation of testing results
  • Creating scripts in order to automate repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Background:

  • Interest in Automotive Background
  • Mechanical background along with general understanding of material
  • Matlab and CAD experience
  • Coding experience (python, javascript, etc)
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate findings
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawing, Geometric dimension & tolerance

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Materials Science with at least one semester completed.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
