About the Position:

OneEnergy Renewables is seeking a Development Intern as a full-time summer position that will report to the Community Solar Development team in either our Bethesda, MD, Boulder, CO, or Madison, WI offices. We develop solar energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects where the energy market dynamics, grid interconnection rules, and land permitting requirements are often unknown or are in flux and this role is important to help us navigate these unknowns. The Development Intern adeptly manages multiple development efforts with competing deadlines and resources. This role will work collaboratively across functional teams including engineering, delivery, accounting, finance, and legal.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and obtain critical project or market information regarding zoning code, policy, permits, land records and relevant industry studies. 
  • Collaborate with internal partners to document project details and improve standard operating procedures and processes.
  • Conduct due diligence and site analysis. 
  • Identify constraints and participate in obstacle resolution and risk tracking. 
  • Participate in managing expenses.
  • Participate in team meetings, record and share minutes.
  • Continually sharing knowledge with coworkers and managers to ensure project successes and failures are learned by all within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • In pursuit of a degree in a related field (i.e. real estate, sustainability, renewable energy, policy, communications etc.).
  • High degree of organization and time-management skills. 
  • Strong aptitude in MS Office software. Salesforce experience a plus. 
  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy. 
  • Strong attention to detail and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects. 
  • Self-motivated, with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • A willingness to contribute to our culture which thrives on building trust and holding one another accountable. 
  • Position may require travel within the local office area, including nights up to 20% of working time.
