Job Description

About us

One team. Global challenges. Infinite opportunities. At Viasat, we’re on a mission to deliver connections with the capacity to change the world. For more than 35 years, Viasat has helped shape how consumers, businesses, governments and militaries around the globe communicate. We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.

What you'll do

Snappi operates the "CDN That Learns"—an intelligent content delivery network that continuously optimizes ecommerce web performance. Every millisecond matters when it comes to browsing the web, and our adaptive technology ensures users get the fastest, smoothest experience possible.

As a Viasat subsidiary, we combine startup agility with enterprise stability. You'll find a fast-moving culture focused on high-impact work, backed by the comprehensive benefits and resources of an established global company. Viasat has spent more than 35 years delivering connections with the capacity to change the world—and at Snappi, we're channeling that legacy into transforming how ecommerce performs.

Interns will build and operate our intelligent CDN platform serving global traffic. You'll work on core infrastructure and emerging AI-powered operations, gaining deep expertise in web performance optimization, browser technologies (resource hints, compression dictionaries), and emerging standards.

The day-to-day

  • Design, develop, and deploy cloud and edge network infrastructure software
  • Build observability and monitoring systems for CDN performance
  • Develop ML algorithms that optimize routing and caching decisions
  • Leverage AI coding agents and tools to accelerate development
  • Work on self-healing systems with automated issue detection and resolution

    • To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2026 and August 2027

  • Internship Dates: You must be available to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship program as outlined in the cohort dates below. Limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars:

  • Additional:

    • Foundation: Strong problem-solving skills, continuous learner, collaborative team player, able to articulate technical ideas and think through problems out loud

    • Mindset: Self-directed problem solver who leans into ambiguity rather than away from it. In a fast-moving field, curiosity beats credentials

What will help you on the job

  • Technical Skills: Solid fundamentals in Python, Go, Rust, Java, or C/C++, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, networking concepts (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP), and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React)
