What you'll do

As a VGOV Business Development Data Analyst, you will transform raw data into a clear roadmap for our growth. You’ll collaborate across teams to spot opportunities for innovation and help us evolve our processes. Your insights will directly shape how we serve our customers and build a more efficient, scalable future.


The day-to-day

  • Analyze, monitor, and audit diverse data to ensure accuracy and integrity, leading data cleanup efforts.
  • Accurately input and update information in related databases, emphasizing data entry responsibilities.
  • Provide effective user training and apply onboarding strategies to elevate the success of enterprise software implementation and improve user adoption.
  • Build and maintain custom reports and dashboards in relevant business systems, offering visibility for key business metrics.
  • Serve as a point of contact for user inquiries; including addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, educating users, and maintaining relevant process documentation.

Internship Program Details: 

  • You will work onsite at a Viasat office location for the duration of your internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. 

  • Housing and relocation assistance are available to interns pending eligibility. 

  • To ensure equity across our intern population, intern compensation is pre-determined based on a variety of factors including: role, location, and final graduation date. Intern compensation is non-negotiable. 


What you'll need

Requirements: 

  • Education: 

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in data analytics, business or related 

    • To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2026 and August 2027 

  • Internship Dates: You must be available to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship program as outlined in the cohort dates below. Limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars: 

    • Cohort 1: May 18, 2026 – August 14, 2026

    • Cohort 2: June 22, 2026 – September 18, 2026 

  • Citizenship: This position requires U.S. citizenship 

  • Additional:

    • Acknowledged expert in analysis and problem solving, as well as effective written and verbal communication.

    • Ability to quickly learn Business Operations tools/systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Office applications, Monday.com, Jira, Tableau, etc.).

    • Comfortable working in multifaceted environments with changing business requirements.

    • Capable of working independently and collaborating in cross-functional teams.

    • Motivated to put yourself in slightly uncomfortable situations to find new areas of growth.

    • Expert in crafting and examining custom reports on-demand using dynamic analysis and real-time insights.


What will help you on the job

  • In depth knowledge of ERP Systems like Oracle or SAP; or equivalent business systems.
  • Fundamental project management abilities with track record of achieving goals and ensuring realistic timelines for successful project execution.

Salary range

$20.91 - $56.97 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $25.96 - $67.07/ hourly
