We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Accounting team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of accounting activities, including financial reporting and general ledger analysis, accounting pronouncement review, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entry set-up. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in accounting, financial analysis, and process optimization.

This position is expected to be 10-12 weeks and approximately 40 hours per week.

 Responsibilities: 

• Assist with preparing financial reports while analyzing for accuracy.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of SG&A variances versus prior month activity.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to identify process inefficiencies.
• Support the month-end close processes.
• Assist with various tasks and projects, gaining exposure to multiple aspects of accounting in a large corporation.

Required Qualifications: 

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate accounting or finance program or a related business major.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, advanced formulas, pivot tables).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Prior experience or coursework in accounting principles and financial regulations is preferred but not required.

Compensation: Aya reasonably anticipates the pay scale for this position to be $25.00 hourly

The pay scale for this position may vary if applicant possesses experience outside of what Aya reasonably anticipates for this position. Bonuses are subject to the role and your manager’s discretion.
