Job Description

Position Summary: 

Hudson Advisors is seeking a Summer Analyst (Intern) to join its U.S. Residential Credit investment platform in New York. Hudson Advisors is the dedicated asset manager and investment manager for the Lone Star Funds, which currently manages multi billions of AUM across private equity strategies. The U.S. Residential Credit team primarily focuses on the underwriting and acquisition of mortgage whole loans in connection with Lone Star Residential Mortgage Fund III/IV. 

Interns will work alongside the underwriting team and support all aspects of the investment process, with a focus on quantitative financial modeling, analytics, and market research. Successful candidates will develop experience in a variety of products within structured credit, with a focus on non-agency RMBS. In addition, Interns will support in monitoring and reporting for the portfolio. 

Interest in MBS/ABS (Mortgage/Asset-Backed Securities) or residential / consumer / corporate credit assets will be helpful. The ideal candidate should have a solid technical and analytical background and must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Programming skills are a plus. Interns are expected to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly. 

Pay:

  • $35 dollars per hour in New York 

Duration:

  • This temporary assignment is for an approximate duration of 10 weeks, beginning on or about June 1st  2026 and ending on or about August 7th 2026. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Support the team on ad hoc analytics and data-driven projects related to investment management.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of next-generation investment infrastructure, including data pipelines, analytics tools, and internal reporting systems.
  • Assist with investment cash flow modeling, performance analysis, and return attribution.
  • Support the investment screening process by conducting data studies, analyzing large datasets, and helping define investment parameters.
  • Prepare slides, charts, and analytical materials for internal meetings and investment committee presentations.
  • Participate in meetings with the investment team, counterparties, and other key stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with an interest in financial markets and investing.
  • Demonstrated programming experience, with proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, SQL, VBA (experience building tools, automations, or data workflows is strongly preferred).
  • Comfort working with large datasets, including data cleaning, analysis, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting) and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence or analytical tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R, MATLAB) is a plus but not required.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and process-oriented, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly present analyses both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.

Required Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or STEM discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field).
  • Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
