Job Description

Intern Work Description:

Ideal candidates would have experience in an engineering science related curriculum

and completed sophomore level course work. Job entails working in an industrial

mill/mine environment, performing the following duties: sample creation and analysis

with lab equipment (training provided), performing data entry and data analysis of

sample results, web base searches for equipment/process (with documentation of

searches performed).

Candidate will have knowledge and familiarity of electronic spreadsheet and word

processing software. Candidate should be mechanically/technically inclined for hands on

field work preparing samples.

Milling Equipment and lab instrument training will be provided, candidates must be

willing to learn and take on pilot plant based assignments and learn talc processing

methods, learn and understand site safe protocol and be able to interact with site

personnel.

Knowledge and use of CAD software and database programming - a significant

consideration.

Daily Routine:

Daily activity includes working in an industrial environment providing lab and field

support at pilot plant personnel direction. Work includes operating pilot scale crushing

and milling equipment for sample preparation and lab analysis, data analysis work, and

web searches for equipment and material.

Internship Learning Objectives:

Enhance engineering design and data analysis skills. Exposure to rapid prototyping and

research methods. Advance data modeling knowledge.
