Position Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Interior Design Intern to support our team in designing impactful public spaces. This internship is ideal for students currently enrolled in an interior design program who are interested in educational and civic architecture. This internship opportunity may be available at any of our three office locations: Plano, TX; Georgetown, TX; or Broken Arrow, OK.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in developing interior design concepts for schools and other civic buildings
  • Support space planning, finish selections, and furniture layouts
  • Create presentation boards, color palettes, and material sample sets
  • Draft and revise interior layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp
  • Research materials, furnishings, and fixtures suitable for high-traffic, public-use environments
  • Participate in design meetings and collaborate with architects and other team members

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Interior Design or a related field, with the intent to pursue licensure and professional registration
  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and other essential design and office software used for renderings, presentations, and construction documentation preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in educational and civic design
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research design challenges and propose thoughtful solutions
  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team player who takes initiative and responds well to direction
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Strong drafting accuracy and attention to detail
  • Participate in continuing education seminars, conventions & organizations to stay up to date on the latest best practices and techniques.
  • A portfolio showcasing academic or personal design work (PDF or online link required)

Interns will report to Project Principal-In-Charge (PIC), Project Manager (PM), and Project Architect/Coordinator (PC).
