About The Role:
This intern will report to the Commercial Middle Market Banking Team.
In this role, you will streamline business development and underwriting processes. Identify ideal, prospective clients for the bank and move deals through the underwriting process more efficiently.
Your objective will be to collect, analyze, and compile market data by creating a system to help build a list of prospects that would be ideal for Columbia Bank. The intern will also work alongside the underwriting team to create a process to help gather documentation from businesses and business owners to help expedite the time it takes to gather information for credit requests and potential clients. The intern will achieve an understanding of commercial banking fundamentals, develop bank-centric business acumen and underwriting standards, while simultaneously growing their prospecting skills and professional network.
Preferred degree and skillset include a degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. Skillset will consist of strong research, analytical, and reporting skills along with intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
About You:
You’re an undergraduate student aiming to graduate in spring 2026/2027 or a recent graduate within the last year.
Available to work full-time (40 hours/week), fully onsite, for 10 weeks starting in June.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
The pay rate for this role is $22.00 per hour.
The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
