This role is ideal for a 2nd-year Electrical Engineering student who is detail-oriented, eager to learn how major programs manage technical criteria, and motivated to contribute through research, organization, and disciplined documentation support.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Electrical Discipline Lead and program leadership, you will:

  • Compile and organize electrical inputs for criteria documents (e.g., distribution concepts, grounding/bonding, power quality, lightning protection, interfaces), as applicable.
  • Structure content into clear, review-ready formats (tables, outlines, checklists).
  • Maintain trackers for assumptions, open items, and decisions; provide weekly summaries.
  • Track and support comment resolution (owners, dispositions, closure evidence) and produce meeting rollups.
  • Support document control in the repository (file naming, versioning, correct draft routing).
  • Draft meeting minutes and action logs; capture decisions and follow-ups accurately.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure electrical interfaces are consistent.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering program (2nd-year standing at internship start).
  • Completion of foundational coursework (typical: calculus-based physics, intro circuits).
  • Strong writing and organization skills for technical notes, trackers, and minutes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint); able to learn SharePoint/workflows.
  • Ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team and follow structured review/configuration processes.

Preferred

  • Basic power systems exposure (single-line familiarity, distribution fundamentals).
  • Prior experience with structured documentation, configuration control, or checklists.
  • Ability to read/extract from technical standards (with supervision).
  • Interest in infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or systems-engineering documentation.
