Our dynamic manufacturing team in Orangeburg, S.C. is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Production Technician. Performs machine set-up for orders, safely operates machine to production target, waste, and quality standards, and trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard. Involved in keeping plant and co-workers performing in a safe and efficient manner that exceeds customer’s expectation.
Requirements
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Work, act, think, and converse in terms of improving quality and eliminating waste in his/her process.
· Stop any operation that is not producing product to customer expectations or its in violation of approved quality and safety standards.
· Set-up machine to specification out lined on the order copy.
· Set-up machine to standard set-up time and procedure.
· Operates machine to standard production target and waste targets.
· Assist maintenance in machine repairs and preventative maintenance.
· Must be able to work efficiently and seamlessly with other divisions within Indevco Group to drive improvements.
· Continuously improve the process as an individual and as team member.
· Trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standard.
· Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistence with the policies and procedures which make up of Quality System.
Specific duties:
· Responsible for creating an environment of teamwork focused on producing quality products.
· Performs inspections per Quality Procedure.
· Cleans machine and area according to schedule.
· Ensures machine Preventive Management is performed according to the schedule.
· Set the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines and holds self and other accountable.
· Initiates and supports improvement initiatives.
· Other duties as instructed by Supervisor, General Manager and/or Production.
· Maintain open communication with employees and ensure their improvement ideas of operation concerns are reviewed and addressed in a timely manner.

· Use shop tools, hand tools, equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics for trouble shooting and diagnosing equipment failures.
· Implementation of 5S activities and follow all procedures.
· Adhere to Personnel Processing Practices in IPO’s Food Safety Plan as determined by the Food Safety Management System.
Standards of Performance:
· Makes “run / don’t run” call with input from General Manager, Supervisor and Quality / Technical. Ability to communicate and work well with others.
· Ensures everyone has the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Basic understanding of computers.
Knowledge:
· Meets production targets (% performance to production plan).
· Meets Quality targets (number of complaints).
· Meets Safety targets and perform audits on required timelines.
· Meets all Environmental compliance (Air Permits, Waste, Storm Water, etc.)
· Other duties as instructed by Plant Manager, Supervisor and/or Production Manager.
· Basic understanding of all machine functions, printing, inks, mounting plates, extrusion, and reading of tape measure.
· Reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Physical Demand:
Work is medium difficulty. Shafts can be controlled by the hoist equipment, if available. Ink buckets lifting required on occasion but no more than 40-50lbs.
