Overview

Summer 2026 internship (May-August)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing Intern to support hospital marketing and community engagement efforts. This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare marketing, with a focus on social media content development and community event activation. As part of a Catholic health care ministry, OSF HealthCare is committed to serving with the greatest care and love. The Marketing Intern will help share stories, promote services, and support outreach efforts that reflect our Mission and the compassionate care provided by our Mission Partners. There will be a combination of office, hospital, and community event setting. Some evening or weekend hours may be required to support events and outreach.

Key Responsibilities

📱 Social Media & Content Support

  • Assist in planning and creating engaging, mission-aligned content for hospital social media channels
  • Draft captions, short-form posts, and visual content consistent with OSF HealthCare brand standards
  • Support social media content calendars and campaign planning
  • Monitor social media trends and recommend timely, relevant content ideas
  • Help track basic performance metrics such as engagement and reach

🎉 Community Event Activation

  • Support planning and on-site activation of hospital-sponsored community events
  • Assist with event setup, materials preparation, and promotional displays
  • Capture photos and videos for social media and future marketing use, following privacy guidelines
  • Represent OSF HealthCare in a professional, welcoming, and compassionate manner at public events

📝 General Marketing Support

  • Assist with design or formatting of flyers, signage, and digital materials
  • Support internal promotions and awareness campaigns
  • Provide administrative and project support for marketing initiatives as needed

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current student attending college/university pursuing undergrad degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-based communications
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Basic photography or video skills a plus
  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable interacting with diverse audiences

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools
  • Understanding of social media analytics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
