NOTE:  This position is located at Nordstrom's downtown Seattle headquarters and follows a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and one remote workday each week.

Our talented fashion design team, the Nordstrom Product Group (NPG), develops, designs, produces, and sources all Nordstrom‑brand products. From traditional to trendy, this team shapes the styles and looks our customers love. And now, we have an exciting opportunity to join this team.

As an Assistant Technical Designer at Nordstrom, you will assist the Technical Design team in the creation of Nordstrom Brand product within your assigned categories, ensuring product meets design and fit intent, and align with the Brand DNA.  Everything we do revolves around creating products that make our customers feel good and look their best.  If you have technical design experience, are detail-oriented, obsessed with apparel development and committed to providing outstanding customer service this could be the job for you.

A day in the life… 

• Assist Technical Design Team to develop clear, concise tech packs to include measurement worksheet and construction images to align with design intent and Brand DNA
• Assist in evaluating samples to ensure product specifications, quality and construction standards are executed
• Measure samples, support Technical Design Team and participate in fit sessions as needed
• Support Technical Design Team to meet calendar milestones and due dates
• Support internal teams to maintain sample organization throughout development and production lifecycle
• Assist in special projects as directed

You own this if you have… 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Pattern Making or equivalent industry experience
• 1+ year of experience in Technical Design, preferably within apparel.
• Organization and time management skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Strong interpersonal skills, including clear, effective written and verbal communication
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management Software, preferred
• Exposure to 3D apparel development preferred (Browzwear, CLO, Optitex) and exposure to 2D pattern software preferred (Gerber Accumark, Optitex)

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Washington: $51,500 - $83,500 annuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
