SUMMER COLLEGE INTERN POSITION - May 18th - August 7th, 2026

Searching for a college student to work over the summer and gain knowledge in the Insurance Claims field.

Prefer student that is studying Risk Management.

This is an in-office position in Yarmouth, ME

Under direct supervision and with limited independent judgment, performs the entry level responsibilities of the organization Claims Representative, by performing the following duties:

1. Follows corporate policies, procedures, and fair claims handling practices
2. Under supervision, investigates claims to determine validity and extent of liability, including:
3. Obtains information necessary to properly investigate and evaluate each case by corresponding with agents, insureds, claimants, witnesses and others
4. Reviews and evaluates documentation, including applications, reports, and statements
5. Monitors appropriate claim outcomes through self-audit process
6. Delivers superior customer service to policyholders and agents, ensuring appropriate and timely resolution of claims service issues
7. Ensures legal, regulatory and fair claims handling compliance
8. Sets or recommends reserves based on results of claim investigation.
9. Within defined authority, manages, evaluates and concludes claims. Prepares and maintains claim reports.
10. May interact with insureds, agents, claimants, attorneys, and other service providers, including:
11. Conducts in-depth interviews and/or scene inspections
12. Attends settlement conferences and/or trials
13. May serve as a member of project teams, contributing to the achievement of project objectives. 
14. Performs other duties as assigned
