Job Description

Emerson Tool Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist our Engineering staff in new product development and product support.  Based in our St. Louis, MO location, you will work in an exciting, cross-functional design environment.  Support cross-functional teams in rapid prototyping, testing, and preparing product designs ready for production.  Expand your technical and professional skills in a real-world setting. Emerson students are given meaningful work, support, and mentorship from experienced managers and key business leaders.In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • New product design and development - Assist the engineering department in the development of new products.  Produce sketches and layouts to formulate design concepts. Create and evaluate prototypes.
  • Competitive product evaluations - Research competitive products, evaluate, test, and document findings.  Review market analysis and trends to drive product solutions.
  • Engineering support - Evaluate engineering change requests, prepare change orders, and learn department procedures.  Function as part of a global team, collaborating with different departments as part of a project team. 
  • Project Engineering - Assist engineering in project execution to prepare and develop skills required for full-time staff.  Support the development of schedules, costs, and engineering documents.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Ability to support periodic travel as needed
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
     
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Junior or senior standing in a Mechanical Engineering program
  • CAD experience, particularly Siemens NX
  • Previous engineering internship or co-op experience
