Job Description

Performs basic drafting tasks to produce or modify electronic drawing files. The selected candidate is expected to complete tasks of progressively increasing complexity until reaching full performance level.

This is a full-time, non-rotational position intended for execution at company headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska, USA. 

Responsibilities

  • Learn and successfully execute engineering and design office processes and procedures of progressive complexity.
  • Consistently demonstrate appropriate progression of skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork, handling a client’s changing needs, communications, operational efficiencies, decision making, and analyzing and solving problems.
  • Proficiently operate various AutoCAD systems. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform design tasks.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certificate in AutoCAD or equivalent design experience required.
  • Prior drafting experience for the oil & gas industry preferred.
  • Must be available to work out of company headquarters in Anchorage, AK. 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability:

Math skills sufficient to: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent. Draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current versions of AutoCAD design software.
