Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. (GOBHI) has an immediate opening for a part-time 15-30 hour per week Internship position for our Behavior/Education Interventionist (ABA) to assist in our Baker City clinic. This is a limited duration position for about six (6) months with the potential to renew or advance into a permanent position. 

The ABA Intern supports the treatment team in providing play-based therapy in a one on one or small group interventions settings with children experiencing autism. This support is done under the supervision of the Behavior Analyst that implements and executes positive behavior support treatment plans. 

Essential duties include:

  • Provide backup and 1:1 treatment with children from 2 to 21 years of age in the clinic, and/or community. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to playfully and spontaneously interact with children within an assent based training.
  • Implement individualized positive behavior support treatment plans. 
  • Model implementation for parent and/or primary caregiver. 
  • Ensure all treatment is implemented as written and directed by the Behavior Analyst. 
  • Prepare and submit all required medical billing, record documentation daily into the electronic health record. 
  • Collect and input program data into the digital data collection system. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with children who may become physically aggressive or self-harming. 
  • Assist the Behavior Analyst in conducting assessments. 
  • Ability to drive to treatment settings or other GOBHI locations in all season weather as needed. 
  • Participate in team meetings and complete training as required. 
  • Prepare educational materials for sessions. 
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Demonstrate time management ability to manage a small caseload. 
  • Communicate with other team members in a respectful, collaborative approach creating a supportive and welcoming environment with professionalism and integrity. 
  • Assist team in creating learning materials for each learner. 
  • Assist team across daily clinic operations. 

Requirements

What is needed to succeed in this role:

  • Experience – at least one year experience working with children 2 to 18 years of age. 
  • Has to be at least 18 years old. 
  • Communication skills – excellent English communication both verbal and written. 
  • Technology Savvy – comfortable using Microsoft Office or Google Suites software. 
  • Positive attitude – ability to approach problems in a positive manner. 
  • Problem solving skills – ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.  
  • Maintains good driving record and required vehicle insurance.
  • Education – High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain. 
  • Food Handlers card or ability to obtain.

  • Competitive salary – starting at $20.00 per hour
  • Additional compensation for proven bilingual Spanish skills
