We are looking for a coder responsible for performing CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of medical terminology. CCS or CPC certification is required (must be obtained within one year of employment, if not currently held) and a minimum of six months of prior physician coding experience.

Job Description
The coder is primarily responsible for performing CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding from appropriate source documents, in accordance with all UFHP, B/AR and department standards related to billing protocols and compliance. The coder is also responsible for training physicians and other staff regarding documentation, billing and coding and for providing feedback to physicians regarding billing practices. The coder may participate with practice management in the oversight of certain practice billing activities as in certain billing follow-up activities. The coder is responsible for performing various administrative and clerical duties required to support these functions and on an as needed basis, may be required to perform other tasks.
High School graduate or equivalent
CCS or CPC certification required (must be obtained within one year of employment, if not currently held)
Knowledge of medical terminology required
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology preferred
Minimum of six (6) months of prior physician coding and abstracting experience required
Employees in this position:
Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
Note: A frequent driver is defined as an individual who uses a personal or employer-provided vehicle:
At least once daily, or
At least five (5) individual trips per week, or
Drives, on average, more than 150 miles per week in the performance of job duties
