The Scion Group is looking for an analytically inclined individual to add value to the Property Accounting team. This position will focus on supporting property-level accounting processes, financial reporting, and analysis to help ensure accurate financial performance and compliance across Scion’s communities.                                                  

Scion’s internship program provides a unique opportunity for ambitious college students to learn, contribute, and gain real-world work experience in a collaborative environment. Interns have the chance to learn more about Scion’s culture and business while developing practical skills necessary post-graduation.

The 10-week program includes 1-on-1 guidance and timely feedback, development opportunities for both soft and technical skills, spotlights on various functions outside of your team, mentorship relationships with company leaders, and networking opportunities with colleagues. The program equips interns with an understanding of working in a professional environment dedicated to providing colleagues and communities with optimal support, expertise, and experience.

At the end of your internship, you will have obtained the following experience:

  • Exposure to property-level accounting and real estate financial operations.
  • Hands-on experience supporting monthly close processes and financial reporting.
  • Practical application of GAAP principles within a corporate accounting environment.
  • Experience working with general ledgers, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Insight into how financial data supports operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaboration experience within a cross-functional corporate team.
  • Professional development through mentorship, feedback, and networking opportunities.

What We Require:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in property accounting, real estate, or corporate finance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; exposure to property management systems (e.g., Entrata) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
  • Adaptable, eager to learn, and comfortable in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and continuous learning.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Must be willing to work full-time for the full 10-week term of the program, beginning June 8, 2026.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required. We do not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • All positions require pre-employment background check verification and a pre-employment drug screen. 

Operational Details

  • Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters where you will be exposed to on-the-fly learning opportunities
  • Full-time hours; 10-week program.
  • Working hours are typically 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

The base salary range for this full-time position is base + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
