The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas:

  • ๐Ÿณ Culinary Arts

  • ๐Ÿฝ Advanced Training - Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging

  • Coach students through life skills, conflict resolution, and personal development

  • Keep dorm operations running smoothly with checks, reports, and teamwork

  • Be the trusted adult students turn to for support and encouragement


โœ… Responsibilities

  • ๐Ÿ  Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living and accomplish goals

  • ๐Ÿ“ Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to counselor

  • ๐ŸŽฏ Assist in unit activities, including unit government

  • ๐Ÿ‘€ Patrol and monitor dormitories and center, ensuring safety and proper behavior; resolve problems

  • ๐Ÿ—‚ Prepare daily operations report, pass list, and other administrative correspondence

  • ๐Ÿงน Direct students and assist in cleanup and maintenance of dormitory

  • ๐Ÿ›’ Recommend or requisition supplies for dorm living and student safety

  • ๐Ÿ“‚ Maintain dormitory and individual student files, ensuring they are complete and updated

  • ๐Ÿ’ป Enter student case notes in the center information system

  • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ Participate in career development services by ensuring a safe living environment and positive peer leadership

  • ๐Ÿง  Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions, and independent living skills

  • โฐ Work overtime when directed; maintain regular and predictable attendance

  • ๐ŸŒŸ Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff, and center customers

  • ๐Ÿ›ก Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy

  • ๐ŸŽ“ Promote career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and monitoring behavior through interventions

Qualifications


๐ŸŽ“ Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required.

  • Licensing: A valid in-State Driverโ€™s License preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching

  • Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or assess the lift load to ask for necessary assistance
