About the Department:
The Computer Department within the Office of the State Treasurer and Receiver General is looking for a motivated and self-driven Information Technology (IT) Intern to join our team. Under the supervision of IT Helpdesk Manager, the IT Intern will assist our in-house PC & Network Support team in providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware and software used by various departments within Treasury. The successful candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues and assist with the implementation of new technologies as needed.
Information Technology (IT) Intern Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance to all users on hardware and software-related issues.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and mobile devices.
Monitor service request queue and assist other IT staff in completing those requests.
Follow established procedures to maintain IT hardware inventory for all equipment.
Provide assistance to users with the use of computer systems and software when required.
Perform system maintenance to apply Windows/Firmware updates as needed.
Research, recommend, and document solutions for technical problems

Work Schedule:
The internship program will allow you to work Monday through Friday (except for holidays) for a minimum of 15 hours to a maximum of 37.5 hours a work week from June to August over a 10-week timeframe. You must also be able to travel to the Boston Office location a minimum of 1-2 times a week based on your work schedule.
Please note that the exact schedule will be determined after a discussion with the direct supervisor.
